2019-08-14 | Scripts | Meet the Scripts

The local directory true holds all metadata and content. The structure of the tree determines the structure of the generated website and organizes the journal. There is no database. Here are all of the scripts working together:

  1. Monitors the local directory tree for changes and creates the appropriate parts of local web site
  2. Serves up the local website on a tiny webserver
  3. Displays a markdown editor, a semi-live HTML viewer, and tag listing and selection
  4. Creates a graph of the site content
  5. Quick way to enter an article using just a command line interface

Running all of these scripts can be cumbersome, but I'm using terminator:

Terminator is kind of finicky and difficult to set up correctly. Once you do get it, though, just copy the config file. I just have a bash alias for each website that copies the config file. Another hack I do is add a line onto bash_history. Works for me.
